What We Support

Keyboard Navigation

All interactive elements are fully accessible via keyboard. Use Tab to navigate, Enter or Space to activate, and Escape to dismiss dialogs.

Screen Reader Support

Our platform is built with semantic HTML and ARIA attributes to ensure compatibility with screen readers like NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver.

High Contrast

We meet WCAG AA color contrast requirements across all text and interactive elements. High contrast mode is also supported.

Captions & Transcripts

Video content includes captions where available. Live lessons support real-time closed captions through our video provider.

Focus Indicators

Visible focus indicators are present throughout the platform so keyboard users can always see where they are on the page.

Responsive Design

Our platform is fully responsive and usable across devices and screen sizes, including mobile assistive technologies.

This Accessibility Statement applies to the Fluent Forward website and platform at fluentforward.online and all associated mobile applications. It was prepared on May 21, 2026 and will be reviewed at least annually.

1. Our Commitment

Fluent Forward is committed to ensuring that our platform is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that education should be available to all, and that means removing barriers wherever possible. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA across our website and applications.

2. Accessibility Standards

Our accessibility efforts are guided by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines define how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities. We target Level AA compliance as our baseline and aim for Level AAA in key areas.

3. Accessibility Features

We have implemented a range of accessibility features across the Fluent Forward platform. See the highlights above.

4. Assistive Technology Compatibility

We test our platform with a range of assistive technologies to ensure compatibility. This includes screen readers (NVDA and JAWS on Windows; VoiceOver on macOS and iOS; TalkBack on Android), voice control software (Dragon NaturallySpeaking), keyboard-only navigation across all modern browsers, and zoom tools at up to 200% magnification without loss of content or functionality. We recommend using the latest version of your browser and assistive technology for the best experience.

5. Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, some areas of the platform are still being improved. Known limitations include: certain PDF documents that may not be fully screen-reader accessible (we are working to remediate these); some third-party embedded content such as video conferencing tools that may have their own accessibility limitations outside our direct control; and legacy pages that are in the process of being updated to meet our current standards. We are actively working to address these gaps and appreciate your patience.

6. Text Size and Display

You can adjust text size using your browser's built-in zoom controls (Ctrl/Cmd + and Ctrl/Cmd -) or through your operating system's accessibility settings. Our platform is designed to reflow content gracefully at up to 200% zoom without horizontal scrolling. We do not use fixed font sizes that would prevent browser-level text resizing.

7. Color and Motion

We do not rely on color alone to convey information — all color-coded information includes additional visual or textual cues. For users who are sensitive to motion, we respect the "prefers-reduced-motion" browser setting and minimize or disable animations accordingly. Users can also disable animations through their operating system's accessibility settings.

8. Feedback and Contact

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our platform. If you encounter any barriers, experience difficulty accessing any content, or have suggestions for improvement, please contact our accessibility team. We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 2 business days.

9. Formal Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility concern, you may contact the relevant regulatory body in your country. In the United States, you may file a complaint with the Department of Justice. In the European Union, you may contact your national accessibility enforcement authority. In the United Kingdom, you may contact the Equality and Human Rights Commission.

Report an Accessibility Issue
